Welcome to Dr. Ahmed Kaffel's Homepage

Dr. Ahmed Kaffel is currently working at Marquette University in the department of Mathematics and Statistics . He started his career as a civil engineer; then he received his M.S. in Engineering Mathematics in 2009 and his Ph.D. degree in Mathematics in 2011 from the Mathematics Department of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University with Professor Michael Renardy as his advisor. Subsequently, after his PhD he has previously been employed at Brown University, University of Maryland and PSU university.


He has a strong performance record in research and teaching. His research experience in applied mathematics prepared him as a computational scientist with a strong background in mathematical modeling, scientific computing, fluid dynamics and porous media. He also taught for many years several Mathematics courses: Ordinary and partial differential equations, Linear algebra and matrix theory, Numerical analysis, Finite Mathematics, and Calculus I and II.
