We have an organizational meeting (some may arrive a bit
later because of classes) on
Friday September 10 starting at 3:30 PM in the Cudahy
Hall atrium, 3rd floor.
About this class:
- We learn to solve purely mathematical puzzles, using proofs.
- This class also prepares undergraduate students for the
W.L. Putnam Mathematical Competition, held on the first Saturday of
December all across North America.
Levels of participation and registration:
- Class attendance is open to ALL MU undergraduates
without registration.
We allow others to attend on a case by case basis.
- Registration for MATH 3977 credit (additional to
attendance) must be completed by the common deadline on Tuesday September 7.
To get a permission number,
- come to the MSSC office at Cudahy Hall CU 340 and ask, or
- ask me, or
- email the MSSC Assistant Chair Dr. Stocker at
christopher.stocker@marquette.edu
- Putnam Competition registration for the
Putnam Exam
( or Putnam Exam)
itself is automatic for those registered for MATH 3977.
