   Make sure that all directories up to your verite directory have exucute
access. So your home directory and verite directory bit setting should be at
least --x--x--x. Usually one should choose something like
        rwx--x--x
The text file with `hidden' information can be secured by turning off at least
the read bits for group and user. A common setting would be
        rw-------
