                Assignment 1

  (For some of you this may be a trivial assignment, but my first task is to
make the hangers-on catch up. Talking with one another is ok, but each one
of you is supposed to complete his/her own homework.)

On studsys, create a subdirectory of your home directory named verite (that is
french for truth). In this directory, create a short text file in which
you write what you really think of me. Set the protection for the
directory such that I can access it and such that I CAN read WHICH files are
in the directory verite. However, set the protection on the file such that I
CANNOT read its CONTENTS.
  Hints: First learn about the manual pages by using the man command. Then
learn about ls, profile, passwd, vi, chmod, mkdir, cd, pwd, rmdir, rm, cp. Ask
questions from other students, and work together on this part. Regardless,
always know about the passwd command, and use it!

  You will be graded upon whether you have the propection settings done right.
Make sure everything is in place no later than 15 September 1997.
