We had an organizational meeting (some may arrive a bit
later because of classes):
Friday September 8 starting at 3:35 PM in the Cudahy
Hall atrium, 3rd floor.
We meet again on Fridays at 3:35 PM, same place.
Come to `class' to hear about our SECRET WEB PAGE.
About this class:
- We learn to solve purely mathematical puzzles, using proofs.
- This class also prepares undergraduate students for the
W.L. Putnam Mathematical Competition, held on the first Saturday of
December all across North America.
Levels of participation and registration:
- Class attendance is open to ALL MU undergraduates
without registration.
We allow others to attend on a case by case basis.
- Registration for MATH 3977 credit (not required for
attendance only) needs to be completed by the common deadline of Tuesday
September 5th before noon.
To get a permission number,
- come to the MSCS office at Cudahy Hall CU 340 and ask, or
- email the MSCS Assistant Chair Dr. Schwarz at
thomas.schwarz@marquette.edu
- Putnam Competition registration for the
Putnam Exam itself is
essentially automatic for those registered for MATH 3977.
All others have to contact me, see my email address way way above.
